J - Ball

First of all, I have to say this is a  very interesting topic. I really liked it. It talks about Baseball which fortunately is my favorite sport. Moreover, I did like it not only because it talks about my favorite one, but because it talks in general, about the beginning, the baseball players, the teams, the country where it was born or created, and so on. In fact, it talks about Baseball History. Also, it mentioned the National League, the rival American League, the countries where it has taken root, and the players who have had a great impact. In addition, there are many more interesting facts about Baseball in this unit.

It was very interesting to speak about this unit because it´s about baseball. The original name of it was townball. It was a big playground in the 1940s and 1950s. Nowadays, this sport is becoming the world's pastime . (A picture of town ball's team)

Did the Chinese discover America? Comment: In this class the teacher talked about the vocabulary , read the unit and spoke about the supposed discoverers of America. This unit is very interesting because it tells us about the supposed people who discovered America before Christopher Columbus. There have long been hints that Columbus was not the first explorer to come to the New World from the Old. Evidence suggests that the Viking leif Ericson crossed the Atlantic and visited North America in the eleventh century.  According to the book there are claims that the Phoenicians, the Irish, the Polynesians, and others made the journey before 1492. Now, an amateur historian, Gavin Menzies, has theorized that the Chinese made the journey too. According to Menzies, the Chinese explored Australia 350 years before Captain Cook, circled the world a century before Magellan, and arrived on American shores 71 years before Christopher Columbus.
